Robert Pattinson will not play Finnick Odair in 'Hunger Games' sequel 'Catching Fire'

robert-pattinson-on-the-road-premiere-gi.jpgRumors hit the web this week that "Twilight" lead Robert Pattinson was being considered for the coveted role of Finnick Odair in "The Hunger Games" sequel, "Catching Fire." Finnick, a major player in the second and third books in the series, is an Adonis-like Hunger Games champ who returns to the arena to take on Katniss and Peeta in another round.

Fans weren't particularly pleased by the buzz about Pattinson -- in fact, #PattinsonisnotFinnick hit the Twitter trend list on Thursday.

Calm down, fans. Pattinson himself has confirmed that he hasn't been in talks to play Finnick -- and he probably won't be.

"I woke up this morning and saw all these things about me being cast in 'The Hunger Games,'" he told reporters from USA Today in Cannes. "I was kind of curious for a second. So I called my agent. [My agent] was like 'no one's going to offer you that part.' I was like, thanks for the reassurance."

It's previously been reported that actors who are known for roles in the "Twilight" series won't even be considered for roles in "The Hunger Games" trilogy. Though fans were concerned that, with Gary Ross out of the picture, that might change, it looks like vampires are still blacklisted from the Capitol.
