The series will feature Don Johnson reprising his role of Earl McGraw, with Rodriguez directing the first two installments.

The 10-episode serialized drama will also feature D.J. Cotrona as Seth Gecko, the role originally played by George Clooney; Zane Holtz as Richie Gecko, the role originally played by the film's co-writer Quentin Tarantino; and Jesse Garcia as Texas Ranger Freddie Gonzalez, a new character created for the series.

Johnson will recur as Sheriff Earl McGraw, with more cast members being announced in the coming weeks. The crime saga will center around Seth and Richie Gecko who are wanted by the FBI and the Texas Rangers and end up unwittingly trapped in a strip club populated by vampires. The series will add new backstories and expand upon the Masoamerican mythology behind the vampires. It is set to debut in early 2014.
