Robin Roberts returning to 'Good Morning America' on Feb. 20
Roberts began feeling the symptoms of MDS about a year ago and she tells ABC News that it's been a long road, but she's excited to be healthy.
"What a difference a year makes. I cannot wait to return to my GMA family. It's going to be an incredible morning in Times Square. The overwhelming thoughts and prayers of the viewers have played a major part in getting me here today. I cannot thank everyone enough," says Roberts.
Roberts has received the green light from doctors after her most recent test showed no abnormalities. She has also been doing some dry runs in the "GMA" studios, to make sure she's up to the task of being there so early and getting ready for the broadcast, plus testing studio lighting on her sensitive skin and eyes.
For a more in-depth look at what Roberts has been through, "20/20" will air a special edition on Friday, Feb. 22, which will show a candid look at Roberts' experience with MDS.
