Robin Thicke's 'Blurred Lines' holds longest Hot 100 reign of 2013 ... so far
Despite the controversy surrounding it, Robin Thicke's single "Blurred Lines" isn't going anywhere. The chart-topper even earned a big honor this week.
After sitting in the No. 1 spot of the Billboard Hot 100 for its seventh week in a row, "Blurred Lines" officially holds the longest Hot 100 reign of 2013. The song that previously held that title was Macklemore and Ryan Lewis' hit "Thrift Shop," but was edged out of the top spot after six nonconsecutive weeks.
"Blurred Lines" also earned the Hot 100's top Airplay Gainer award for an unprecedented eighth week in a row. So congratulations, Thicke: it looks like you're well on your way to having the top song of 2013.
