Rock and Roll Hall of Fame 2012 inductees: Guns N' Roses, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Beastie Boys

guns-n-roses-rock-hall.jpgOn Wednesday (Dec. 7), the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame announced its 2012 inductees and Gen Xers everywhere felt instantly validated since three seminal late '80s/early '90s groups made the cut. Guns N' Roses, the Red Hot Chili Peppers and The Beastie Boys led the inductee list, though some even more retro acts -- Donovan, Laura Nyro and The Small Faces/The Faces -- also made the cut.

The big question is whether or not Axl Rose will reunite with his former bandmates at the April induction ceremony. Rose, the lead singer, is famously estranged from Slash and the other original members, though he now tours using the Guns N' Roses name.

Nominees who didn't make it to the Hall of Fame this time around: Joan Jett & The Blackhearts, the Cure, Heart, Eric B. and Rakim, Rufus with Chaka Khan, Donna Summer, War, Freddie King and the Spinners.

What do you think? Should Guns N' Roses and the rest of this year's inductees have made it in ahead of Joan Jett and Heart?
