Ron Howard and Brian Grazer to make an 'Arrested Development' movie in Season 4
An actual "Arrested Development" movie might be in the works, but it's actually getting made in the show's upcoming fourth season. Ron Howard recently confirmed that his character in the comedy will be working on the discussed "Arrested Development" movie during a storyline in Season 4.
Howard confirmed to TV Guide that his character's "maybe it's a movie" line at the end of Season 3 will come to fruition during the next 14 "Arrested Development" episodes. Howard and Brian Grazer's production company Imagine Entertainment will be part of some big plot points in Season 4.
"One of the very last lines in the show was when [I say in voice-over], 'I don't think ['Arrested Development'] is a TV show; maybe it's a movie," Howard teases. "So in the new season, we create a heightened version of Imagine Entertainment."
Grazer adds, "We talk about what could be our new 'Da Vinci Code.'"
That means Grazer will have a role in the new season as well, as Jason Bateman confirms that "in one episode, I get stuck in an elevator with Ron and Brian." Howard adds, "It has a lot to do with our inflated egos."
"Arrested Development" Season 4 will air on Netflix at some point in May. If you're missing the series, tune in to Zap2it's "Arrested Development" Rewatch where we take a look back at the 53 episodes that made the series one of our most beloved TV comedies.
