Ronda Rousey naked weigh-in explained: 'Everyone thought I was crazy'
Ronda Rousey recently made waves with her nude cover of ESPN The Magazine's Body Issue, along with buzz that Dana White wants the Strikeforce champ to anchor UFC's first female division. Now the Olympic judo star is nominated in a record four categories -- including Fighter of the Year -- at the "2012 MMA Awards."
Rousey visited Blackbelt TV to go "3 Rounds With ..." Jabbin' JJ. In a clip seen first at Zap2it.com, the fighter explains why she stripped completely naked for a recent pre-match weigh-in. After being attacked by a pitbull a few days before a fight, Ronda was trying to hide the nine stitches in her foot from her competitor.
The public strip show was an effort to distract the commissioner and onlookers from noticing the wound when she removed her socks -- and it worked. "Everyone thought I was crazy," she says. Eventually the real truth comes out, however, as Ronda reveals, "I was just waiting for the opportunity to get naked in public."
The full interview can be seen on Blackbelt TV beginning Nov. 5 at 8:00 p.m. If you simply can't wait for your "Rowdy" Rousey fix, Ronda also appears on "Last Call With Carson Daly's" Halloween night episode.
