Last pilot season, the major buzz surrounded Tim Allen and his possible return to sitcoms. The former "Home Improvement" star reportedly had his pick of projects -- and seemingly chose correctly, as "Last Man Standing" is a hit for ABC.
This year, the big comeback story could come in the form of Roseanne Barr, who is starring in a new sitcom that NBC just ordered to pilot.
The "Roseanne" star will play the lead in "Downwardly Mobile" as the "proprietor of a mobile home park and surrogate mother to all of the unique people who live there in a challenging economy," Entertainment Weekly reports. Much like Allen, it'll return Barr to her multi-camera comedy roots.
It's no guarantee that the project will make it to air, but it certainly has the star power to be among the strongest contenders for NBC's fall lineup. The network ordered two more comedy pilots, including the veterinarian workplace comedy "Animal Kingdom" and "Go On," about a sportscaster who bonds with his grief support group.
