barbara-walters-rosie-odonnell-getty-the-view.jpg "The View" executive producers Barbara Walters and Bill Geddie announced Monday (Jan. 27) that Rosie O'Donnell will be returning to the panel for the Friday, Feb. 7 show, which is O'Donnell's first appearance since she left the program in 2007.

"I have great affection for Rosie and we have remained in contact through the years. I am happy to welcome her back to the program," says Walters in a statement. "She is always a lively and engaging guest and a part of the show's successful history."

O'Donnell took over the moderator seat from Meredith Vieira in 2006 but only stayed one season on the long-running daytime talk show. O'Donnell's time on "The View" was known for her feud with Donald Trump and frequent on-air disagreements with conservative panel member Elisabeth Hasselbeck. A particularly heated one happened just days before O'Donnell said she was leaving the show, three weeks before her contract was up.

When she left, O'Donnell said she'd return as a occasional correspondent, but this is the first time she has done so.

Hasselbeck left the program for Fox News back in July.
