Ryan Reynolds on divorce from Scarlett Johansson: 'There was no scandal'
Back in December 2010, one of Hollywood's hottest couples -- Ryan Reynolds and Scarlett Johansson -- announced they were splitting. Both actors remained silent about the divorce in the months following, but now the super private "Green Lantern" star is opening up in Details magazine.
Reynolds tells the magazine, "I'll say this: the media was not invited to my marriage, and they're definitely not invited into the divorce."
The actor did not talk about what caused the split, but says people shouldn't believe everything -- or anything -- they read. "What was happening privately was the exact opposite of what was being reported," Reynolds said. "There was no story and no scandal, so the narrative was just created for me. That was the most disturbing part. I wasn't angry. I absolutely predicted every beat of it."
Reynolds did admit he is still healing and is not completely over the divorce. "Anyone who gets divorced goes through a lot of pain, but you come out of it," he said. "I'm not out of it yet. At all. But I sense that as I do come through it, there's optimism. How can there not be?"While Johansson is now dating actor Sean Penn, Reynolds says he isn't interested in a rebound romance or marriage anytime soon. "I don't think I want to get married again, but you always reevaluate these things."
