"I am deeply saddened by the loss of my dear friend Dick Clark. He has truly been one of the greatest influences in my life," Seacrest writes. "My thoughts and prayers are with his family."

Seacrest took over Clark's hosting duties for "New Year's Rockin' Eve" in 2006 after Clark retired due to a stroke. Clark continued to join Seacrest as co-host even with his failing health.

The "American Bandstand" host reportedly died Wednesday morning from a heart attack Wednesday morning following an outpatient procedure at a Los Angeles hospital Tuesday night.
