There's no cover up here: "American Idol" judges Nicki Minaj and Mariah Carey are not getting along. Ryan Seacrest addressed the recorded spat between the two performers during his radio show "On Air With Ryan Seacrest" on Wednesday (Oct. 3).

"These are all very different individuals with different perspectives and different opinions that provide for interesting conversation and dialogue and feedback for the contestants," he explains in the segment. "[There's] nothing wrong with disagreeing... That's gonna happen, and it's okay."

Seacrest was there for the incident, which resulted in Minaj cursing at Carey during the show's auditions. Reports claim that Carey antagonized Minaj beforehand, but regardless of the cause it's clear that all is not well on the reality competition's production.

"It got heated between Nicki and Mariah," Seacrest says. "It was intense! I'll be honest with you... It went far last night. It did get intense."

But it turns out he doesn't consider their problems with one another to be a problem for "Idol."

"We want that! We want them to be on this panel together. This is a good team, a great team, to go out and look for the next American Idol... the feedback that they give is very good," he claims. Whatever you say, Mr. Seacrest.
