Sandra Bullock on $1 million Haiti donation: 'Because I can'

sandra-bullock-globes.jpgOn Friday (Jan. 11), Sandra Bullock donated a million dollars to Doctors Without Borders to aid in the Haiti relief effort.

Bullock said in a statement, "I wanted to ensure that my donation would be used immediately to meet the needs of the Haitian people affected by this catastrophic event."

On the Golden Globes red carpet, when Ryan Seacrest asked Bullock why she made the donation, she simply replied, "Because I can."

Bullock went on to win the Golden Globe for Best Actress in a Motion Picture, Drama for her work in "The Blind Side" and showed off her sense of humor in her acceptance speech when she told her family to "put down the Maker's Mark and go to bed."
