Zap2it : How do you describe your "Sanjay and Craig" character, Sanjay, and his sidekick, the talking snake?

Maulik Pancholy : As superexcited, really excited about certain things, latching onto something he has to do and goes whole hog. They are pretending to be doctors so they can witness the first ever butt transplant. There is some sweetness about him and some insecurity, especially with the neighbors down the street; he wishes he could be like them. He loves all things gross -- pus bubbles and fart jokes.

Zap2it: What was your first time ever onstage?

Maulik Pancholy: I have a ton of cousins on my mom's side of the family, and we would put on shows together all the time and put on costumes, and we even charged our parents money.

Zap2it: How is doing voice work different than other acting jobs?

Maulkik Pancholy: You show up in whatever you are wearing, and for the most part I am not acting with a lot of other actors. On "Phineas and Ferb," we are recording for six years, and I only once worked with another actor. On "Sanjay and Craig," I've had a number of chances to work with Chris Hardwick, and that is so much fun. He brings so much to the character. He is hilarious. You are communicating everything through your voice -- although they animate it later, it is so expressive, and I am amazed at the facial expressions they can create. When I am in the sound booth I am trying to convey as much as I can through just my voice.
