Sarah Palin wants to protect Christmas from 'an angry atheist armed with an attorney'

Christmas isn't too far away, and Sarah Palin couldn't be more excited. The former governor of Alaska was on "The Today Show" when holidays came up.

Matt Lauer asked Saraf if she hates how commercial the Christmas season has become. "I love the commercialization of Christmas," she says, surprisingly. "It spreads the Christmas cheer. It's the most jolly holiday, obviously, on our calendar."

That's not the only reason she likes how commercial the holiday tends to be, though. It doesn't take long for Palin to go on the offensive, continuing, "What I'm saying is we need to protect the heart of Christmas and not let an angry atheist armed with an attorney, a Scrooge, tell us we can't celebrate traditional faith in America."

No word on if the commercialization she loves includes that chocolate nativity scene Oprah Winfrey loves so much. It's unclear what being able to eat a chocolate Jesus has to do with saving Christmas from atheists.
