Sasha Pieterse: 'Pretty Little Liars' Season 4 finale's answers are from Alison's POV
"It's a lot more complicated than you would think it would be," she tells Zap2it on the red carpet at the "PLL" Paleyfest panel a few days before the finale. "There's a lot of complicated stuff on our show, but you can't just explain it by seeing it."
She continues, "There's a lot more that goes on with why this person has done that, and you're left with a really bad taste in your mouth. It's shocking! You're like, 'How could someone do that?' But it's satisfying at the same time. You're like 'OK, that makes sense in a weird, strange way.' There's some irony in it."
The whole episode will be full of reveals, Pieterse says. "It's ridiculous, this finale -- there's so much in it. The whole episode is kind of from her point of view, and it's answering the missing pieces the girls are trying to figure out."
We'll also get some revelations on Alison's crazy family life in both the finale and throughout Season 5. "Her family life's twisted," Pieterse says. "I can't tell you much. So far you've seen that her family life's awful, but you will find out more about it and see more about why that is in the finale, premiere [and beyond]."
Still, warns executive producer Oliver Goldstick, you can't necessarily take Ali's word as the absolute truth. "I'm not trying to be coy, but it's coming from Alison," he tells Zap2it. "Lying is her oxygen. That's how she breathes. But I think a lot of it is her telling the truth in this episode, and I certainly think it'll be eye-opening and jaw-dropping for the audience."
"Pretty Little Liars" airs Tuesdays at 8 p.m. ET/PT on ABC Family.
