Seth Rogen returned to host "Saturday Night Live" for the third time April 12. Obviously it wasn't filled with singing and dancing like Anna Kendrick's turn as host, but Rogen sure packed on the star power.
During his monologue alone, which included the "Neighbors" star reading his personal diary, James Franco, Zooey Deschanel and Taylor Swift popped up. Swift is obviously the one that doesn't quite fit, but her line was perfect. "Whenever a man shows emotion, I appear," she joked.
The episode wasn't necessarily among the best of the season, but it was a solid outing with many familiar characters, including Nasim Pedrad's Shollon and Vanessa Bayer's Jacob the Bar Mitzvah Boy. Kudos to the "SNL" writers for only including one marijuana-themed sketch, though Rogen joked during the monologue that 50 of them were proposed.
The only non-monologue cameo was another Franco appearance during a pre-produced piece that showed what happens to grotesque monsters who go through plastic surgery to look like humans. It turns out if you have enough money, the answer is Franco.
