The third time hosting was the charm for Paul Rudd.

When Rudd returned to host "Saturday Night Live" on Saturday (Dec. 7), he brought his energy, his commitment to the sketches (even when that called for embarrassingly dorky dancing or fangirling), and his "Anchorman" co-stars along for the ride. With the return of Will Ferrell (and his classic "Bill Brasky!" sketch) also came the triumphant return of Kristen Wiig and Fred Armisen. You put all these amazing parts together and you get one of this season's best episodes so far.

Don't believe us? Watch videos of the best and worst sketches below, then let us know what you think in the comments:

Best: Cold open -- "Sound of Music Live! and Condensed!"

In this condensed version of "The Sound of Music Live!," Captain von Trapp introduces his children, including Dooneese, to their new governess Maria. This made us love "Sound of Music" again, so thank you Dooneese.

Worst: Politics Nation

Al Sharpton welcomes unpaid Huffington Post contributor Peter Douchet to Politics Nation to discuss the progress of President Obama's healthcare website. Rudd's Douchet was hilarious but we're kind of over Kenan Thompson's Al Sharpton.

Best: One Direction Concert Line

Paul Rudd is Dan Charles, One Direction's #1 fan. His fangirling equals amazing.

Weekend Update

Worst: Weekend Update: Jacob the Bar Mitzvah Boy

Seth welcomes his podiatrist's son, Jacob, to speak about the traditions of Hanukkah. It's time to retire this character. He was funny the first few times, but now it's just the same over and over again.

Best: Weekend Update: Jebidiah Atkinson Reviews Holiday Movies

1860s newspaper critic Jebidiah Atkinson returns to the Update desk to review classic holiday films like "The Charlie Brown Christmas Special," "Miracle on 34th Street," and "A Christmas Carol." Wait until he gives a shout out to the cartoon dog that should have died in place of "Family Guy's" Brian.

Best: Michelangelo Unveils David

At the unveiling of David, the model must explain Michelangelo's rendering of his body to his date and onlookers. We knew where this was going from a mile away but we still couldn't stop laughing.

Best: White Christmas

White Christmas is the first Black holiday movie for a white audience. Rudd's Madea was spot on.

Worst: Santa Meeting

Santa stops by the elves' workshop with a new look and new Mrs. Claus. There's nothing worse than a thin, overly-sexed Santa going through a mid-life crisis.

Best: Memories

On a lonely night, a woman waxes nostalgic about past lovers and is reminded of a forgotten hookup with an airport Sbarro employee. This was going to be a worst, but the last moments sealed it as a best. Maybe he's not just a memory ...

Best: Bill Brasky!

Four salesmen gather at a Chuck E Cheese to drink and exchange stories about the legendary Bill Brasky. Returning favorite cast member Ferrell brought with him a returning favorite sketch, and it was everything we didn't even know we needed.
