john-barrowman-scandal.jpg "Scandal" has booked another easy-on-the-eyes male guest star for an episode later this season.

"Torchwood" star John Barrowman will appear on the ABC drama's next-to-last episode of the season, scheduled to air May 9. Series creator Shonda Rhimes broke the news Tuesday (April 9) with the following tweet:

"John Barrowman is here working at @ScandalABC today. Life is good. #torchwood #captainjack #iamanerd"

Per usual with "Scandal," Rhimes is keeping the particulars of Barrowman's character under wraps. The show is currently in the midst of a story arc about a mole within the CIA who is somehow connected to Jake Ballard ( Scott Foley), the military intelligence officer who's simultaneously romancing Olivia ( Kerry Washington) and spying on her at the behest of the president ( Tony Goldwyn).

Barrowman and Rhimes have worked together once before: He starred in the Rhimes-produced ABC pilot "Gilded Lilys" last year, but it didn't go to series. He currently has a recurring part on "Arrow" at The CW.
