'Scandal's' Kerry Washington on being a new mom: 'I feel really blessed'

In her first interview since giving birth to daughter, Isabelle Amarachi, earlier this year, "Scandal" actress Kerry Washington sat down with the Los Angeles Times to answer questions about her hit ABC show.

Fans also got to weigh in asking questions via Twitter. When one asked if it will be a hard to go back to work now that she is a mom, Washington laughs and says, "So tricky, because you know I don't talk about this stuff. But I will say, I feel really, really blessed. I feel really blessed that I'm kind of living extraordinary dreams come true in my work life and my personal life."

It's no secret Washington likes to keep her private life under wraps these days. The actress didn't even reveal she had given birth to her baby girl until almost a month after the big day, and managed to keep her relationship to now husband Nnamdi Asomugha a secret until they were officially husband and wife.

Washington quickly switched the conversation back to all things Gladiator-related, and while she has no idea where Season 4 will take Olivia Pope, she does credit the show with making her a better actor and teaching her about releasing control.

The actress also revealed her thoughts on "Scandal" being paired with new Shonda Rimes created drama "How To Get Away With Murder" starring Viola Davis in the fall, saying, "It's great, Viola is a beast! It's exciting!"
