The "Private Practice" alum is making his way back to TV with a recurring role on Season 3 of "Scandal," TVLine reports. Adelstein's role is being kept, of course, a secret.

Adelstein, whose real-life wife Liza Weil played the ill-fated White House intern Amanda Tanner during Season 1, will first appear on the buzzy D.C. drama in late October. The new role marks Adelstein's first TV gig since "Private Practice" wrapped in January.

Adelstein joins previously-announced guest star Lisa Kudrow, whose recurring role has similarly been kept under wraps.

"Scandal" kicks off Season 3 on Thursday, Oct. 3 at 10 p.m. ET on ABC.
