'Scandal: The Secret is Out': ABC to air catch-up special on night of Season 3 premiere

scandal-the-secret-is-out-season-3-premiere-abc.jpgThe world of "Scandal" is so fast-paced that even the most devoted of Gladiators might have had a bit of trouble keeping up over the past two seasons. Lucky for them, ABC's got their back.

On the night of the big Season 3 premiere (taking place Thursday, Oct. 3), ABC has planned "Scandal: The Secret is Out," a special one-hour clip show to help the show's biggest fans, and the newbies they've recruited over the summer, catch up on all of the series' most scandalous moments.

"Scandal" star Joshua Malina, David Rosen himself, will narrate the one-hour special, dissecting the rumors, lies and affairs that have made the Shonda Rhimes series one of the most buzzed about shows on TV. Fans will be able to catch up on Olivia ( Kerry Washington), Fitz ( Tony Goldwyn) and all their other favorite characters and story lines from Seasons 1 and 2, with refreshers on the series' most asked questions ever.

The special, airing at 8 p.m. that evening, comes just in time, too, as "It's Handled," the Season 3 premiere will waste no time diving right back into the breakneck pacing the show has come to be known for.

The official logline for the premiere goes a little something like this: With Olivias name out there as the President's mistress, both the White House and Pope & Associates face their biggest scandal to date, and a surprise allegiance is formed in order to get things handled. Meanwhile, Olivia's father, Rowan (guest star Joe Morton), will stop at nothing to carry out his orders and no one, including Olivia, can stand in his way.

Get ready, Gladiators. October 3 is going to be a doozy of a night.

"Scandal: The Secret is Out" premieres at 8 p.m. ET on ABC, with the Season 3 premiere of "Scandal" following at 10 p.m.
