'Scary Movie 5' trailer: Lindsay Lohan screams, Charlie Sheen takes a hit
The long wait (of six years!) is almost over: "Scary Movie 5," starring Ashley Tisdale and featuring Charlie Sheen and Lindsay Lohan, will be released on Friday, Apr. 12, 2013. An early trailer for the film has already been released.
It's worth a viewing, if only to laugh at tabloid fodder like Sheen and Lohan being silly.
"Scary Movie 5," the first in the series of horror parodies to not star Anna Faris, revolves around a couple who move into a haunted house and are harassed by... a ghost? A witch? Found footage?
Who knows? Whatever the cause, the result is shaky camera footage and rough cuts that reveal homages to "Inception," the many "Paranormal Activity" films, "Black Swan" and even the "Madea" movies.
The highlight of this particular trailer, however, is a short segment in which we see Sheen and Lohan as the former occupants of the house. Their purpose in the film is blatantly to laugh at the two actors' tabloid-friendly foibles. It's safe to say -- based on this small bit of footage -- that Charlie Sheen is having a lot more fun laughing at himself than Lindsay Lohan is.
"Scary Movie 5" has a predictably large and varied cast, including Erica Ash, Simon Rex, Molly Shannon, Terry Crews, Heather Locklear, Jasmine Guy, Kate Walsh, Mike Tyson, Audrina Patridge, Katt Williams and Kendra Wilkinson.
