Scott Bakula is back: 'Chuck' stages a family reunion

NBC confirms to Zap2it that Scott Bakula, who played Chuck's (Zachary Levi) reclusive dad Steve Bartowski at the end of last season, will return late in the show's third season. His return is a byproduct of NBC extending the show's run from 13 to 19 episodes; Bakula will appear in one of the final six episodes.

Bakula currently stars in TNT's series "Men of a Certain Age," but he said in November that he'd be open to return to "Chuck": "We all love each other, so if they write it, I'll be there," he said at the time.

Since his appearance will come in one of the final six episodes, don't look for Bakula on "Chuck" until the spring.
