Scott Hall arrested: Wrestler's mugshot taken after choking girlfriend
According to TMZ, Hall's girlfriend Lisa Howell told cops he had been "drinking for days" and they'd had an argument. When she tried to leave, he followed her to her car, grabbed her by the throat, and tried to pull her out of the driver's seat. She had red marks around her neck and other signs of physical injury.
Officers report that Hall was heavily intoxicated and literally foaming at the mouth when they arrived -- with an "unknown white secretion flowing from both sides of his mouth." It took two sets of handcuffs to restrain him, and he was so drunk that the jail refused to accept him until a nearby hospital gave medical clearance.
He was booked on a domestic violence charge, but Howell is not interested in pressing charges.
It's not Hall's first encounter with the law. In 1983, Hall was charged with second degree murder after a man died in an altercation at a bar. Charges were dropped due to lack of evidence, but in a documentary for ESPN, Hall admitted to killing the man with the man's own gun. In the late '90s, he was arrested for drunkenly vandalizing a limousine, and World Championship Wrestling began to use his drug and alcohol problems in storylines during fights. In 2008, he was arrested for charging a stage and attacking a comedian who made a joke about one of his friends during a roast. In 2010, he was again arrested for drunken disorderly conduct and resisting arrest.
Though he did enter WWE-sponsored rehab in 2010 and again in 2012, Hall's substance abuse issues have obviously continued to plague him.
