Sean Hannity of FOX News and singer Ryan Adams have a Twitter war
There really isn't much else -- besides politics, of course -- in the fight.
Adams fired the first obvious shot in the battle, posting a tweet directed at Hannity on Monday (Aug. 5):
"@SeanHannity Your entire soul is controlled by fear and by hate. Evolve little chicken man. See reality"
This response seems to be with regard to Hannity's lament that there were no good celebrity role models. It has since been removed.
Never one to back down from a fight about nothing in particular, Hannity responded via Twitter and by asking Adams to appear on the show to defend Twitter comments. The musician declined the show invitation, but he did keep going with the Twitter arguments.
The two men's back-and-forth went as follows:
"Thanks @seanhannity for inviting me on your show. If I wanted to be yelled at I would go see a Youth of Today reunion show. : )"
Hannity did not, however, accept "no" as an answer:
@TheRyanAdams Confident on Twitter, but too scared to come on and explain yourself?
Adams went for pithy in his response:
"I don't negotiate with terrorists."
Hannity's final entry into the increasingly intelligent and thoughtful debate appears to have been deleted at this time.
"who is the little chicken man now? A terrorist? Typical liberal, zero substance all name calling. Say it to my face u coward"
If you feel the need to enjoy this fight in spoken words instead of tweets, here is Hannity slamming Adams for his Twitter comments. He then discusses the matter with noted Ryan Adams and terrorism experts, Miss Oklahoma Anna-Marie Costello and FOX news contributor Tamara Holder.
"You probably don't know him. He's not that popular."
"If we wanted to torture terrorists, we could play his music, which is not that popular anyway."
"He's hiding behind his rock-star makeup like a little, gutless coward that he is!"
"Most people don't even know who he is. So let's move on."
