Bert-and-Ernie-CTW.jpgAnyone visiting "Sesame Street's" official YouTube channel on Sunday (Oct. 16) was in for a bit of a surprise. For a brief time, the channel was brought to us by the letter P, as in porn. Hackers, according to CNN, commandeered the site and replaced clips of Bert, Ernie and Elmo with hardcore porn.

The page was quickly taken offline and replaced with a message explaining that YouTube had disabled it "due to repeated or severe violations of our community guidelines."

"Our channel was compromised and we are presently working with YouTube/Google to restore our original content," read a statement from Sesame Workshop, the non-profit company behind "Sesame Street." "We always strive to provide age-appropriate content for our viewers and hope to resolve this problem quickly."

Before the page was taken down, a message appeared in which two YouTube users claimed responsibility. One of the users -- identified only as MrEdxwx -- later denied any involvement.

"I did not hack Sesame Street. I am an honest YouTuber," he posted on his account. "I work hard to make quality gameplay videos, and most important I respect the community guidelines."
