Seth MacFarlane: 'No way' will I host the Oscars again
Love or hate or really hate Seth MacFarlane as an Oscars host, you won't have to deal with him on the show again. The "Family Guy" creator has gotten all the singing and dancing and misogyny out of his system and says he won't be back to host the Academy Awards again in the future.
A fan tweeted at MacFarlane following the Oscars and asked him, "Would you host the #Oscars again if asked?" "No way," MacFarlane responded. "Lotta fun to have done it, though."
Of course, Ricky Gervais echoed similar sentiments after his first Golden Globes gig and he came back to host three times. Considering almost 43 percent of Zap2it readers thought MacFarlane was the best Oscars host of the last five years, the news that he's done with the awards show might come as a disappointment for some. Still, there's always a chance he will mock the responses to his turn hosting during an episode of "Family Guy" or "American Dad."
MacFarlane's involvement in the Academy Awards did help boost its viewership in 2013. Here's hoping whoever the Academy chooses for hosting duties in 2014 will make those numbers continue to rise.
