Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg to script 'Uncharted' movie?
Naughty Dog has long known who the video game developer wants to write the perfect movie of "Uncharted": Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg. With Naughty Dog's games published by Sony and Rogen and Goldberg having just premiered their directorial debut "This Is The End" through the company, it seems like a match made in heaven.
"They're constantly asking me and Evan to make the 'Uncharted' movie," Rogen tells IGN.
So why have they turned down the job? According to Goldberg, it's because this version of the movie would just "be 'Indiana Jones.'" "If we could figure out a way to make it not Indiana Jones, it'd be awesome," he says.
Though the "Uncharted" movie has been in development since 2007, there hasn't been much forward momentum on it. For a time David O. Russell was supposed to direct it with Mark Wahlberg playing Nathan Drake, though both ultimately left the project.
In August 2012, "National Treasure" scribes Marianne and Cormac Wibberley were hired to rewrite the film, though no updates about the movie have come out in the time since. The closest Rogen and Goldberg have come to making a straight action movie was "Green Hornet," so it would be interesting to see what their take on the material would be.
