'Sex and the City' tightens security around Sarah Jessica Parker, Chris Noth, et al

The sequel to last summer's hit movie (which itself was a sequel to the hit HBO series) only started filming on Tuesday, but already throngs of onlookers trying to get close to the stars have put the team charged with handling the production's security detail on high alert.

"They looked more like they were protecting the President than Sarah Jessica Parker," one witness tells the New York Daily News. "At one point, teenage girls were practically trampling each other trying to get to Sarah Jessica as she was walking back to her trailer, but her security team was shoving everyone out of the way."

So far, stars Sarah Jessica Parker and Chris Noth appear to be getting the brunt of the attention, although Cynthia Nixon had to take a different route to her trailer on Wednesday to avoid aggressive fans.
