'Sexiest Man' backlash: Ryan Gosling fans plan protest rally
Bradley Cooper, as we reported, was dubbed People magazine's Sexiest Man Alive for 2011 on Wednesday (Nov. 16). Apparently, for a growing group of Gosling fans, that's just not cool. On Thursday, they plan to take their disapproval public in a protest outside the Manhattan offices of People.
In an exclamatory message posted to a just-launched Facebook page, the shadowy pro-Gosling organization does its best to whip Gosling fans into a frenzy:
"Come protest against People Magazine picking Bradley Cooper as the Sexiest Man Alive of 2011. 2011 was clearly the year of Gosling and RYAN GOSLING DESERVED THAT COVER. Bring signs, pictures, and your voice. We will be heard! RYAN GOSLING WAS ROBBED!!!!!! IF WE CAN"T TRUST PEOPLE MAG. WHO CAN WE TRUST!!!! INVITE EVERYONE."
We have no idea what they'll do once there or if they plan to stay until Cooper steps down or, you know, Russell Simmons pays them a visit. Whatever the case, lend your support to the movement via Facebook or show up outside the People Magazine Headquarters at 1271 Avenue Of The Americas on Thursday to make your voice heard.
As of this writing, 19 people had pledged to attend.
Do you agree? Was Gosling robbed of this year's honor?
