Shania Twain gets OWN show, not confirmed for 'American Idol' return

shania-twain-american-idol-2.jpg Shania Twain is set to star in "Why Not? With Shania Twain ," a series premiering on OWN: The Oprah Winfrey Network.

According to People, the hour-long series "The show will follow [Twain] as she begins her climb back to the top, a personal journey filled with risk, revelations and unexpected adventures."

No air date has been set yet for the Twain show, but there this isn't Shania's first foray in front of the camera. She appeared as a guest judge in Chicago on Season 9 of "American Idol," famously complimenting eventual semi-finalist John Park on his "nice bottom end." Hee!

Rumors have swirled that she may return to "Idol" as a guest mentor this season (presumably on a country-themed week, though we'd love it if they went against type and it was like thrash metal or something), but FOX has told Zap2it that the show cannot confirm her return.

What do you think about the OWN network's project? Will you watch?
