When your mother has her own talk show, expect her to discuss your personal life on it.

That's exactly what happened Thursday (Jan. 9) on CBS' "The Talk" when Sharon Osbourne addressed her daughter Kelly Osbourne's recent split from fiance Matthew Mosshart.

"I can't talk for my daughter. Matthew is a lovely guy," Osbourne says. "They had two great years together of fun and love and to me, that's why engagements are so important."

Apparently, there are no hard feelings or ill will left between Osbourne and Mosshart, no matter what happened. "Engagements are a test run, aren't they?" Osbourne says. "And so it didn't work for whatever reason but they are still good friends and will continue to be. It's just not right for them right now. So -- let the auditions begin!"

The now-separated couple first met in the summer of 2011 and announced their engagement in July 2013, before ending their engagement this week.
