The BBC has released the first official photo from "Sherlock" Season 3 to its Facebook page. In it, the show's two main characters -- Sherlock ( Benedict Cumberbatch) and Watson ( Martin Freeman) -- are separated by a wall of glass.

What does it all mean?

Along with the photo on the official Facebook page of BBC One, a caption gives a brief preview of the upcoming Season 3:

"It's been a long time since Sherlock Holmes jumped off that roof - it's time to reveal the truth about what happened between him and the pavement" - Steven Moffat

The question on everyone's lips will finally be answered when Sherlock returns with three brand new action-packed adventures. How did he do it? And how will John take the news that his best friend faked his own death? What will Sherlock think when he finds out John has fallen in love with Mary Morstan?

Obviously, there are some big changes coming to "Sherlock," and they won't all have to do with the fact that Sherlock went and faked his own death in the final moments of Season 2. Will Watson forgive his supposedly dead friend? What has Sherlock been up to in his fake afterlife? Can a woman come between the duo?

Alas, more information may have to wait until it's closer to the premiere of "Sherlock" Season 3.
