'Sherlock' Season 4: Could Tom Hiddleston play the third Holmes brother?

In the "Sherlock" Season 3 finale, fans were shocked to hear Mycroft Holmes casually mention a third brother in the family. There is no concrete information on this sibling, but the Internet seems to have dream-cast "Thor" and "Avengers" star Tom Hiddleston as the mysterious brother.

At a recent Q&A in Brazil, "Sherlock" co-creator -- and the actor who plays Mycroft -- Mark Gatiss responded to fans' desire to see Hiddleston share the screen with Benedict Cumberbatch and the rest of the cast. "Tom would be wonderful in 'Sherlock,'" Gatiss says. "But he only does movies now. What can I say?"

He then added, apparently as a joke, "I'll ask him if you like."

There is no guarantee that the third Holmes will even appear in "Sherlock" Season 4. He may not even be alive: "You know what happened to the other one," Mycroft ominously told a colleague in the Season 3 finale.

Even if this mysterious Holmes does appear, it's probably just a dream to have Hiddleston in the role. But goodness, what a great dream.
