Don't try to mark the "Sherlock" Season 4 premiere date on your calendars just yet. Despite rumors that the popular show might return to TV by 2016, the BBC has made it clear that "Sherlock" will only return after stars Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman are available.

"Conversations are still ongoing regarding 'Sherlock's' return," a spokesperson for the BBC told the Mirror Online. "Steven Moffat has already said that he has mapped out a fourth series, but it is always depending on cast availability."

Show creators Moffat and Mark Gatiss are, however, determined to bring the show back to television -- as is the BBC, which says it's "massively proud of the show." "Everyone is very keen to do more, but we have accidentally cast the two most successful actors in the world and schedules are tight," the creators joked earlier in 2014.

Thus, sooner or later, TV might have "Sherlock" once again. It's just not going to happen any time soon.
