Benedict Cumberbatch is not comfortable being a sex symbol. The "Sherlock" star even thinks that the entire experience of being perceived that way is "weird, shocking and ... cruel."

While Cumberbatch denying that he's hot is nothing new, these specific comments come from a recent interview with Polish magazine W Cztery Oczy. He was asked about being seen as a sex symbol following the success of "Sherlock," and the actor had a fair amount to say on the subject.

"It is weird, shocking ... and cruel," Cumberbatch says. "I have no doubt that Sherlock subdued all his needs, along with sexual ones, to his work ... Apparently fans were OK with that or wanted to comfort me and started repeating that I was sexy until they actually believed I was. I'm harder to convince, because I am a habitual doubter."

Most fans of Cumberbatch are used to this sort of talk from a man who once claimed to have an otter-like face. They still think he's sexy.
