Most know her as Mrs. Partridge on "The Partridge Family." Now, get to know her as an author. Shirley Jones released a memoir Tuesday (July 23) and she's pulling no punches with tales from her personal life, especially the ones related to sex.
Sure, Jones recounts her show business history, from stage to screen, but she also spends some time talking about her first husband, who she refers to as a "sexual Svengali" the Associated Press reports. She dishes on how well-endowed the man, actor and singer Jack Cassidy who was also dad to her "Partridge" co-star David Cassidy, was and how "highly sexed" she found herself at the time. She even recalls a threesome with another woman, which she wasn't too fond of.
Jones and her current husband, comedian Marty Ingels, look back on her earlier years humorously. When asked about his wife's sexual escapades, Ingels jokes, "All that stuff she did with her [first] husband, all those adventures ... I'm looking into the grounds of having my marriage annulled."
At 79 years old, Shirley's still playful with her husband. "Luckily, Marty thinks I've still got a beautiful body, even though it is old, and every now and again I take all of my clothes off in front of him and shake my [breasts] at him, and he loves it," she writes in her book, using a racier version of "breasts."
"Come On, Get Happy" indeed.
