The network officially confirmed that the musical drama would not return for a third season on Friday (May 10), though the announcement was hardly a surprise: The show was shifted to Saturdays to finish out its second season after returning to disappointing ratings and star Debra Messing sought other work, landing a pilot at CBS.

NBC will move "Smash" out of its Saturday death-slot to wrap up with a two-hour series finale on Sunday, May 26 at 9 p.m., a scheduling choice that had been made prior to the show's official cancellation.

Are you disappointed that NBC has silenced "Smash"?
