'So You Think You Can Dance' judge Nigel Lythgoe tweets changes, slams 'American Idol'

nigel-lythgoe-fox.jpg "So You Think You Can Dance" is really shaking things up this year with Mary Murphy departing as a regular judge, Mia Michaels joining the panel as a permanent one and only having a Top 10 that will dance with past seasons all-stars.

Now judge and producer Nigel Lythgoe has been busy tweeting more details about the changes. He tweets:

  • Okay. I understand you want us to change the set this Season. I will check it out with my designer, Andy and we will make some adjustments.

  • Mary is still on the show but don't make the same mistake as "Idol" this season. The show should be about the young talent not the judges.

  • We're not telling the contestants if they made #SYTYCD in the studio. We're going out to the dancer's homes. I say "No" to someone tomorrow

Oooh, burn to "American Idol," though not entirely unwarranted. Also, is anyone else picturing the judges going to people's houses a la the Publisher's Clearing House? Just us? Or perhaps they are hiding "Big Brother"-esque props in weird places for the dancers to "find."
