'So You Think You Can Dance' results show elimination: Lindsay Arnold and Will Thomas sent home

lindsay-will-sytycd.jpgJust six contestants remain on "So You Think You Can Dance" after the judges ousted ballroom dancer Lindsay Arnold, 18, and Will Thomas, 19, on tonight's (Aug. 29) show.

The Top 8 opened the show with an Asian-inspired group routine from choreographer Peter Chu. "Modern Family" star Jesse Tyler Ferguson returned as a giddy guest judge, alongside Nigel Lythgoe and Mary Murphy.

Although Mary praised Witney Carson's hip-hop routine with All-Star Twitch as "spectacular and buck," she and fellow ballroom dancer Lindsay received the fewest votes. The judges praised her technique, but Mary gave Lindsay a "no in the chemistry department" for her jazz pairing with All-Star Alex Wong. So Witney was spared again and had to say goodbye to her BFF Lindsay.

Will and Cole Horibe were in the bottom for the first time, and although Ferguson finds Will "ridiculously adorable," the judges saved Cole. They almost had to, given Nigel's guarantee after his Sonya Tayeh contemporary routine with Allison Holker: "There's no reason why you will not make the finale."

Do you think Nigel's prediction is right? Which pair of dancers should win it all?

The final six perform when "So You Think You Can Dance" returns next Wednesday at 8 p.m. on FOX.
