"So You Think You Can Dance" always has a few dancers show up to auditions who aren't really eligible for the competition. But few have been as impressive as Season 11's J4, a 9-year-old dancer who wowed the judges and audience in Los Angeles.

Judge and executive producer Nigel Lythgoe was so impressed by the kid, in fact, that he had to sing his praises when talking about the L.A. auditions this year.

"We had this little kid get up on stage," Lythgoe tells Zap2it. "He obviously wasn't old enough to come on. And I loved his reaction when I told him he wasn't old enough. He said, 'I'm only here for the experience.' What do you say after that? 'Get off the stage, you little bugger!'?"

Obviously, that's not what happened. Instead, Lythgoe called on "SYTYCD" alums Cyrus and Fik-Shun to join the young boy on the stage. The results were impressive.

"We had to see him. And wow, he turned out to be really entertaining," Lythgoe explains. "We saw Fik-Shun and Cyrus down there, got them up. They're so good. They're so unique. As you say to everybody, that's what it takes, be unique. Be different. And he must have been having a wonderful experience, little C-3PO or whatever his name was. How can your mum call you J4?"

Whatever the kid is called, he's going places in the dance world.

"So You Think You Can Dance" airs Wednesdays at 8 p.m. ET/PT on FOX.
