Zap2it caught up with the cast of " Sons of Anarchy" at the Boot Campaign's Boot Ride and Rally Sunday (Aug. 26) -- a fundraising event in support of the Boot Campaign's charity work for returning American soldiers.

The event consisted of an organized bike ride from Santa Clarita to Los Angeles led by  Theo Rossi and  Kim Coates, and was followed by a rally with the show's cast, loyal fans, and charity supporters.

Ron Perlman explained that the Boot Campaign "builds awareness for our boys who go out and sacrifice everything for us. This is a phenomenal opportunity for us to show our gratitude." Perlman, who isn't exactly known for his motorcycle riding skills despite the character he portrays on the show, chose to join the Boot Ride on four wheels instead.

Costar David LaBrava spilled some of the details. "We all met at Charlie's, and we rode there zipping along. And then you ride with a whole pack of people who have never really ridden together before, and you have to be much more careful."

Coates teased, "It was good, other than hanging out with [Perlman]," when asked about his experience on the Boot Ride. "It was fantastic. Any time we ride it's a good day at work. It's all about the ride, and we don't ride enough on this show."

Maggie Siff came out to represent the "Sons" women at the rally, and though she didn't participate in the actual Boot Ride, she teased, "I only ride on the back of Charlie's bike."

The "Sons of Anarchy" Season 4 DVD is released Tuesday (Aug. 28), while the all new season premieres at 10 p.m., Sept. 11 on FX. In the meantime, click here to enter the "Sons of Anarchy" giveaway for a chance to win a custom SAMCRO jacket.
