'Sons of Anarchy' revs high in Season 3

sons-of-anarchy-s3-320.jpg "Sons of Anarchy" roars into its third season on FX Tuesday (Sept. 7) by picking up pretty much where things left off -- which is to say, not in a very good place for Jax Teller and the members of SAMCRO.

Season 3 begins just a few days after Jax's ( Charlie Hunnam) infant son Abel was kidnapped, and he's devastated to the point of near-paralysis, which causes no small amount of frustration among the other members of the club. (Creator Kurt Sutter has said in interviews that Jax may be "too sensitive and too deep a thinker" for the life he lives.)

The season will also bring changing political winds in Charming, follow the on-the-run Gemma (shoulda-been Emmy nominee Katey Sagal) as she reconnects with her ailing father ( Hal Holbrook, who will appear in several episodes) and take SAMCRO to Belfast, Northern Ireland, where viewers will learn more about Jax's own dad.

We can tell you that based on what we've seen, "SOA" has lost none of the dramatic momentum from its breakout second season -- it's one of the best dramas on TV right now. But we'll step aside and let the cast talk about what Season 3 has in store. Take a look:
