lea-michele-sons-of-anarchy-guest-star-gi.jpg UPDATE: Per FX, Michele will appear in the season's sixth episode (airing Oct. 14) as Gertie, an "empathetic truck stop waitress and single mother who connects with Gemma (Katey Sagal) during a difficult time."

Rumors of "Glee" star Lea Michele guest-starring on the final season of "Sons of Anarchy" have been floating around the Internet for a few months. It appears they've been proven true.

Michele told her 4 million-plus Twitter followers Monday morning (July 28) that she's booked a part on her "favorite show," thanking creator Kurt Sutter and executive producer/director Paris Barclay for the part.

Michele joins a roster of guest stars for "SOA's" final season that includes Courtney Love (as a preschool teacher) and Marilyn Manson (a white-supremacist prison gang leader). She's also part of a long history of outside-the-box guest casting on the show that includes the likes of David Hasselhoff, Tom Arnold and Dave Navarro.

There's also a "Glee"-"SOA" connection. Barclay has directed several episodes of the FOX show, and Sagal has guested on "Glee" as Artie's (Kevin McHale) mom.

Season 7 of "Sons of Anarchy" premieres Sept. 9 on FX.
