Stacey Dash takes Twitter heat, racist attacks for Mitt Romney support

Stacey Dash might have been proud to vocalize her support of Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney, but the Twittersphere hasn't been very receptive to her admission. Some users even turned to racism to blast the 46-year-old.

The "Clueless" actress, who recently reunited with her castmates, had tweeted, "Vote for Romney. The only choice for your future. @mittromney @teamromney #mittromney #VOTE #voteromney," along with a sexy image of her in a red bathing suit.

"@REALStaceyDash You're an unemployed black woman endorsing @MittRomney. You're voting against yourself thrice. You poor beautiful idiot," one Twitter user tweets, while another calls her "white with a dark tan."

That led to Dash's peers rallying to her aid. Though he might disagree with her politics, self-proclaimed Barack Obama supporter Talib Kweli stood up for the "Clueless" star.

"I'm I the only one that finds it hilarious that Stacey Dash supports Romney? Y'all mad? That makes it funnier to me," he tweets. "If you get mad to the point of asking someone to kill theyself cuz u don't agree with their position, guess who just became the crazy one?"

Women's rights activist Sandra Fluke, who we recently saw at the Democratic National Convention, also tweets that she felt the attacks on Dash were out of line.

"So disappointed to see people attacking @REALStaceyDash for voicing her opinion. Disagree politically, but #racist attacks are unacceptable," she writes.

For her part, Dash seems to be taking the backlash in stride. She took to her Twitter, writing, "My humble opinion... EVERYONE is entitled to one."
