'Star Wars: Episode VII': Michael Arndt has written treatment for next three films
Vulture reports that Oscar-winning writer Michael Arndt ( "Toy Story 3," "Little Miss Sunshine," "The Hunger Games: Catching Fire") has penned a 40- to 50-page treatment for the film. And according to Deadline, the treatment is not just for "Episode VII" but for the next three movies.
Sources also tell Vulture that the studio wants Luke Skywalker, Princess Leia and Han Solo in the film, though no deals have been made with the original actors. But EW recently reported that Harrison Ford would be up for returning to the series, and Carrie Fisher told TMZ on Tuesday (Nov. 7) that she would definitely want in.
"Yes. Sure. Wouldn't you?" she said when asked if she'd accept a role in the new "Star Wars" movie.
So somebody call up Mark Hamill, and let's get this show on the road. The Disney/Lucasfilm project starts shooting in 2014.
