'Star Wars' spinoff movies to feature Han Solo and Boba Fett?
Disney is officially developing "Star Wars" spinoff movies in addition to Episodes VII, VII and IX, but who will they center around? Bob Iger revealed that Lawrence Kasdan and Simon Kinberg are writing films "derived from the great 'Star Wars' characters that are not part of the overall saga," and a new report claim that those characters are none other than Han Solo and Boba Fett.
Sources close to the series tell Entertainment Weekly that a "young Han Solo saga, focusing on the wisecracking smuggler's origin story" and a "bounty hunter adventure with Boba Fett at the center of a rogue's gallery of galactic scum" are in the works. The Han Solo story would take place between the events of "Revenge of the Sith" and "A New Hope," while the Boba Fett one would occur between either "A New Hope" and "The Empire Strikes Back" or between "Empire" and "Return of the Jedi."
As the EW report notes, the chronological placement of these movies means that Darth Vader could return in them, which is something Disney likely wants for the marketing side of things. That echoes a similar report that recently claimed Yoda will be the subject of a spinoff movie. None of these rumored projects have been confirmed byDisney yet, but it seems very likely that they're all at least being discussed at the moment.
