Starz cancels Kelsey Grammer's 'Boss'Add to Favorites | Boss
The cable network's statement with regard to their original series gives no specific reasoning for the end of the show. "After much deliberation, we have made the difficult decision not to proceed with 'Boss.' We remain proud of this award-winning show, its exceptional cast and writers, and are grateful to Kelsey Grammer, Farhad Safinia and our partners at Lionsgate TV."
The story of a corrupt (and ailing) mayor Tom Kane (played by Grammer) who wields cutthroat power in the city of Chicago, "Boss" never caught on with the Starz audience as the cable channel must have hoped. The season 2 premiere, for example, earned only half of the viewers as the series premiere a year earlier. While repeat and On-Demand viewings helped these numbers, it apparently wasn't enough.
Is there any hope left for "Boss"? There could be a movie produced to wrap up the series, according to a report from Deadline. But even that ending remains up in the air and in negotiations at this time.
