Stephen King: 'We'd like 'Under the Dome' to be a family fright'Add to Favorites | Under the Dome
CBS has released a special behind-the-scenes look at new scary drama "Under the Dome," based on the Stephen King novel of the same name. In the new feature, King talks about what exactly the project is accomplishing (hint: "something that's really special").
"My feeling about 'Under the Dome' is that when people come, I'd like them to be fascinated by the situation. I love stories about ordinary people in extraordinary situations, to see how some people will rise to that situation and some people will crumble," says King.
"The one thing that TV has is time -- all the time in the world to spread out and tell the story. We'd like 'Under the Dome' to be a family fright," he continues.
We can back up his claim, having seen the premiere. It definitely has "family fright" potential.
"I think that 'Under the Dome' is going to be riveting TV. That's what we're really trying to do. We're trying to make a show where people become really involved with the fates of the characters. Really asking themselves, 'What's going to happen next?' This time we have a shot to do something that's really special."
"Under the Dome" premieres Monday, June 24 at 10 p.m. ET/PT on CBS.
